It wouldn't, as you mentioned, make sense to make the game playable only on an older machine. I suspect that this means that the new Tinkerbell game will be playable on all three versions of the DS.

One of the CEOs of Nintendo said in a conference that they are doing this so as not to alienate any of their players who cannot yet afford to make the move to DSi. They will still be playable on the DS and DS lite, though. There are no games specific only to DS, DS lite, and DSi (at least that is what Nintendo's FAQ says) but there soon will be games that have added extra features IF you have the DSi. What I was told is that DSi is just the third generation of the DS. I have played several of my DS games on my friend's DSi just so I could check it out before I buy one. Well, slightly bigger screens and a web browser and MP3 player but I am doubting those are going to hugely effect my Tinkering experience. The only difference I noticed, other than the lack of a cartridge space that plays the old Gameboy Advanced games, are the cameras and an SD card slot. They say on the news "DS", but why make a new game in the old format!?! The DS and DSi formats are NOT compatible or interchangeable! I hate dirt and germs and everything about it, and I really hate sweating, so this job is so not for me.I asked about the new "DS Game" and no one could tell me weather it's DS or the new DSi format, or both, or if one could buy the game and use an emulator to see it on a screen bigger than a couple of inches. I have a major sweet tooth, but I wouldn’t choose the nurse, because I’m scared of hurting people ( although I do want to become a surgeon), I would definitely not choose the caterpillar sheering talent ( I’m very impatient and would not be able to wait for their fur to grow out), A scribe would be my second chose ( I enjoy writing as a hobby, not sure if I would want it as an occupation), and finally, the talent that I would hate the most if I had to do it, is……… The mining talent! I would never in a million years want to have the mining job. The task of a confectioner is my favourite because YOU GET TO SUPPLY PEOPLE WITH SWEETS! Although, I think I would make a terrible confectioner ( probably because I would eat all of the sweets before I deliver them) I would still choose this job. My favourite lesser known talent is a confectioner. After reading Marigold’s marvelous talent appreciation post, I decided to share what my favourite lesser known talent is, and why.
